... the programmes you wanted to watch always started when you wanted them to. What if you could download news updates and other video programmes, both from the UK and around the world? What if you could legally do all this without a TV Licence?
Well you can. See The Refusenik's Compendium (otherwise known as The Quick Start Guide) below for links to the key articles.
This blog is about video podcasting (or video on demand as it is sometimes called) and its role in avoiding the TV Licence Fee for UK residents. I aim to cover the practical, technical, political and legal aspects of this technology. Some discussion of the cultural and social aspects of podcasting will no doubt be included along the way. Discussion of programme content is extensively covered elsewhere and will not be the focus. Input is welcome from all.
Disintermediation:
A process by which the consumer bypasses the services of an intermediary or intermediaries in the chain of distribution, in order to access products direct from those who produce them.
Nomad has no legal training, read his comments in that light. He does have a degree in Electronics. If you think he is spouting technical jargon then kindly point this out to him. This blog aims to be intelligible to the rest of the world as well.
